Our Services

One Hour Automatic Lesson

Ideal for quick refreshers, targeted skill-building, or busy schedules, our 1-hour Canberra driving lesson packages help you master essential driving techniques efficiently.
Logbook Bonus: In ACT and NSW, your first 10 hours of lessons count as 30 logbook hours, accelerating your progress toward the driving test.

Our Services

Two Hour Automatic Lesson

The 2 hour lesson provides the student with the best value booking. The beginning and the end of each lesson is taken up with mandatory administration and logbook paperwork. During the 2 hour lesson the learner driver spends a greater proportion of their time driving and practicing the road skills instead of completing the logbook paperwork.
This option is especially beneficial for learners approaching their provisional driving test or returning after a break.

10 Hour Automatic Lesson Package

Perfect for dedicated learners, this prepaid Canberra driving lesson package offers 10 hours of expert training. Designed to build confidence and refine skills efficiently, it’s the smart choice for those about mastering the road.
This package empowers you to learn at your own pace while gaining structured support throughout your journey.

Test Day Car Hire

CADS vehicles are available to learner drivers who are attempting the Access Canberra or Service NSW driving test. These learners can take advantage of a small easy to drive car which is particularly important when it comes to the parking phase of the test. This service will be a minimum 2 hour booking in order to allow for a one hour drive with the assessor in addition to administration and waiting times at the test centre. Most customers also like to book some extra time to familiarise themselves with the car and practice some of the specific skills before undertaking the test. For the best chance of success, consider booking a Canberra driving lesson or two in the days before your test.

Cost: 2 hour booking $160

FAQ

Yes. Even if they are not undergoing the competency based pathway and prefer to attempt
the Access Canberra one-off test many clients take a lesson or two in the instructor car and
then use it to take the test. The advantage is using a small easy to drive car, especially
when it comes to parking.

Every student is unique so we cannot make a generalised estimate. A very skilled driver who has done a lot of practice and does not need much instruction in each of the competencies can sometimes complete them in 10-12 hours. Students that need a bit of instruction to work on certain aspects will take longer to complete.
Yes. Many students are competent road drivers but just need help in a specific element of driving such as parking. CADS teaches a number of techniques that make parallel reverse parking much easier. We can also help perfect other specific skills such as three point turns and U-turns.
There is no actual final test in the Competency Based Pathway, however each of the competencies is assessed as we go along. There are two occasions where we review the competencies that we’ve done so far to check that we still know how to do them. These reviews are done with the instructor that you’ve been working with throughout the process, but it is nothing like the stress and pressure of having one big test that everything is riding on. There is no limit on the number of attempts that you can make to achieve each of the competencies.
Yes. CADS caters to all levels of driving experience. The advantage of a student that has no driving experience is that they have not learnt the bad habits that need to be undone to progress to the next skill.
Yes. CADS specialises in the ACT driving competencies, however we do assist NSW drivers especially to iron out a few of the specific skill such as parking before attempting the NSW driving test.
We realise that life is unpredictable and plans change constantly, often due to illness. 4 hours notice is sufficient notice to reschedule a booking without penalty.
